Our Mission

Our relentless mission is rooted in the promotion, preservation, and perpetuation of a brighter future for the children of Selma and Dallas County, Alabama. We achieve this through a multifaceted approach, encompassing the nurturing of young talents within our Performing Arts Academy, the commemoration of the enduring legacies of Colia Liddell Lafayette Clark and Worth Long on their respective Freedom Days, and the orchestration of the Annual Relay Race, where the United States Constitution serves as the symbolic baton. This dynamic event champions themes such as “The Right to Vote,” “Non-Violence,” and “Standing up for Constitutional Rights.” Complementing these efforts, we remain steadfast in our commitment to charitable and educational activities that align with our mission and the law, all in the pursuit of a brighter, empowered future for our community’s children.

Fostering Creative Expression:

We are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where children can explore and express their creativity through various forms of performing arts, including theater, dance, music, and more. We believe that the arts are a powerful means of igniting the creative spark within every child.

Empowering Civic Engagement:

Our mission extends beyond artistic development. We aim to equip young individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to actively engage in their communities. Through our programs, we instill a sense of civic responsibility, encouraging students to become agents of positive change.

Building Confidence and Compassion:

We recognize the importance of self-confidence and empathy in personal development. We strive to cultivate these qualities in our students, helping them grow into confident, compassionate, and socially conscious individuals who can contribute positively to society.

Inspiring Lasting Impact:

Our ultimate goal is to inspire and empower our students to make a lasting impact not only in their immediate community but also on a global scale. By nurturing their artistic talents and nurturing their sense of responsibility, we aim to produce individuals who actively contribute to the betterment of the world.
